June 12, 2008 Serving the Cruise ships that tie up in the Port of Saint John, each year, has been a dedicated commitment for Beth Kelly-Hatt and her staff at Aquila.
Her service to the cruise ship industry and to the Port of Saint John has helped increase the number of ships filled with visitors who eagerly take in the sights and add to the financial success of many local businesses.
Since 1992, Aquila has invested time, effort and money into growing the cruise business in Saint John. They have implemented comprehensive marketing plans, developed relationships with key cruise executives, and promoted not just their services, but our city and the region, to attract more ships to Saint John.
For Beth Kelly-Hatt, the success of Aquila has been the result of establishing strong relationships with key Cruise Line decision-makers.
Clearly, Aquila's attention to the details of providing a quality in-port touring service has made a deep and lasting impression on the companies that have made Beth Kelly-Hatt's company a preferred supplier.
In presenting the Award, Capt. Al Soppitt, President and CEO of the Saint John Port Authority, summed up the vital role that Aquila continues to play by stating, " WHILE THE PORT AUTHORITY MARKETED THE PORT OF SAINT JOHN AS A CRUISE DESTINATION, AQUILA WAS WORKING IN PARALLEL DEVELOPING EXCITING AND UNIQUE SHORE EXCURSION OFFERINGS WHICH WOULD PIQUE THE INTERESTS OF THE CRUISE LINE EXECUTIVES AND CONVINCE THEM TO INCLUDE SAINT JOHN IN THEIR ITINERARIES."
Perhaps, the best reason for this recognition comes from Kelly's own words, "The focus of our hard work and dedication to this industry has always been about more than just the growth of our business, but also the growth of our community, and we are honoured to have this recognized by the Saint John Port Authority with this award."
