NOTICE OF INTENT

 

Notice is hereby given by the Saint John Port Authority of 133 Prince William Street, Saint John, N. B. E2L 2B5 on this 11th day of Febrary, 2007 that the above-named, intends to apply to Environment Canada for an Ocean Disposal Permit, under the Canadian Environmental Protection Act, to load approximately 450,000 cubic metres of bottom silt from the various wharves and piers at Saint John Harbour and Courtenay Bay for the purpose of ocean disposal at the Black Point dump site, Lat. 45o12.68' N, Long. 66o01.10' W, and, if required, a secondary disposal site, Lat.  45o13.45' N, Long. 66o01.50' W by scow.  This work will take place between July 1, 2008 and March 31, 2009.

PORT TARIFF NOTICE

The Saint John Port Authority, pursuant to the Canada Marine Act, advises that effective February 1, 2008 all of its tariffs and fees will increase by 2.5%.

 

Copies of the current tariffs and schedules may be obtained from the Saint John Port Authority, 133 Prince William Street, 5th Floor, Saint John, NB E2L 2B5.  Port tariff schedules of rates are published on the Port Authority’s website www.sjport.com.  Copies are also available from Tanya Laskey at (506) 636-5896 or by email at port@sjport.com.

 

Individuals interested in making representations regarding the tariff increase may direct their written comments to the address set out above.

Port Tariff Notice

The Saint John Port Authority, pursuant to the Canada Marine Act, advises that effective February 1, 2005, its harbour dues tariff will increase 10% and all other tariffs and fees will increase by 3%.

Expression of Interest
To Locate in Pugsley Cruise Terminal

In June 2003 the Saint John Port Authority announced the development of a multi-use cruise facility at Pugsley Terminal. Phase I is now complete. The Port Authority wishes to proceed to Phase II - the design and construction of the facility - and invites interested parties to submit expressions of interest in locating a business venture in the Cruise Terminal Building.

A complete copy of the Expression of Interest can be picked up at Port Authority offices at 133 Prince William Street, 5th Floor, Saint John, NB E2L 2B5, Monday to Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.

Submissions must be submitted no later than 3:00 p.m. on Friday, September 10th, 2004 to the attention of Captain Alwyn Soppitt, President and CEO at Port Authority offices.

This Expression of Interest does not preclude the Port Authority from considering other submissions at a later date.

Saint John Port Authority has modified its Practices and Procedures for the purpose of better promoting safe and efficient navigation and environmental protection in the waters of the Port. Interested parties are invited to make written representation with respect to these measures, addressing them to the Saint John Port Authority, attention: Mr. David Allen, Manager, Port Operations, before Wednesday, March 3, 2004.

Saint John Port Authority Access Control

National Security Requirements

Commencing Monday 29th April, 2002, a gatehouse will be operating at the entrance to the Port properties on the West Side of Saint John Harbour. The access to all West Side terminals will be through this Access Control Point. All vehicles entering the terminals on this side of the harbour will be stopped, and drivers will be asked to identify their business in the Port. Only vehicles with business in the Port will be given access. It is anticipated that there will be little delays.

Access control will be increased during the next few months to the point where passes or other documentation will be required to enter the Port.
