Saint John – A Strategic Location for International Trade

What is a Foreign Trade Zone?
The federal government of Canada has established Saint John as a Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) point, designated for eligibility for tariff and tax exemptions for imported raw materials, components or finished goods. Goods can be stored, processed or assembled in the FTZ for re-export (tax and duty exemption) or for entry into the domestic market (tax and duty deferral).
