Competitive Modal Connector
Port Saint John offers inland optionality with two class I rail lines, CN and CP and a major highway system adjacent to the port.
This access allows the Port to have an expanded hinterland and connects Saint John with major population bases in Central Canada, the Eastern United States, and the Midwest.
RAIL
Saint John is the only Atlantic Canadian port with rail optionality, connecting to two Class I railways CN and CP. For rates within North America, rail providers may be contacted. For intermodal shipments, the container shipping line coordinates directly with the rail providers for an all-inclusive rate.

ROAD
Port Saint John is easily accessible and adjacent to New Brunswick’s major highway system connecting Saint John to Central Canada. The United States border only 68 miles (110 km) from the Port, giving access to the United States East Coast and Midwest.
