SAINT JOHN (NB) – Pile driving will begin today for the West Side Modernization Project. The piles will create support to allow for the installation of a temporary bridge for the next phase of site preparation work. Pile driving is expected to take place intermittently over the next 3 weeks from Monday-Saturday between the hours of 7 am and 6 pm.
The West Side Modernization Project is a $205 million infrastructure project that will see the lengthening and strengthening of the pier structure at the West Side container terminal as well as the deepening of the main channel. The Project, projected to be complete in 2023, is funded through a three-way partnership between the Governments of Canada and New Brunswick along with Port Saint John.
