Port officials welcome Hapag Lloyd container line to Port Saint John in 2021

Canadian Pacific and Hapag Lloyd announced today that Hapag Lloyd will begin a container line service at Port Saint John in 2021.Hapag-Lloyd is a leading global liner shipping company with 234 modern ships, 12,0 million TEUs (twenty-foot equivalent units) transported per year, around 13,200 employees in 388 offices in 129 countries.Combined with geographic and intermodal attributes, including presence of a world-class container terminal operator, two Class I railways, the West Side Modernization Project continues to attract private sector investment and interest in the Port of Saint John.Jim Quinn, CEO, Port Saint John said: “We are extremely pleased with Hapag Lloyd’s decision to join the suite of container services that is building at Port Saint John, and we are looking forward to establishing a long-term relationship with another global container service provider.
