Port Saint John reaches agreement with PSAC/UTCE unionized employees

SAINT JOHN (NB) – Collective bargaining has successfully concluded between Port Saint John and the Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC) Union of Transportation Employees (UTCE) as they ratified an agreement on July 14th.

“We are pleased to announce that management and the PSAC/UTCE Union at Port Saint John have reached a four-year agreement. Both parties are very positive about the outcome, and we look forward to working with our unionized employees over the next several years as Port Saint John continues to grow and modernize,” said Craig Bell Estabrooks, President and CEO, Port Saint John.

This four-year collective agreement positions Port Saint John as an employer of choice and provides fair compensation for our valued employees. Also included in the agreement is a maternity leave top-up, gender-neutral wording in the new collective agreement and recognition of the new National Day of Truth and Reconciliation commemoration.

“UCTE/PSAC members are pleased to have reached an agreement with the employer,” said Chris Bussey, UCTE Regional Vice-President, Atlantic. “We believe that this is a step by Port Saint John to recognize the important work that our members do every day to contribute to the overall economy of the community.”
